The majestic 503 traditional wooden sailing boat is a beautiful piece to behold on land as much as it is on water.
The boatmaking company Bateaux Tirot was formed in Brittany in 1946 by Francis Tirot. Today his grandson Nicolas Tirot continues the tradition of hand-making toy wooden boats of seaworthy calibre. The company is one of the last manufacturers of navigable toy wooden boats entirely made in France.
Sailing boat 503 is made from sustainable wood sourced 50kms away from the atelier. Nicolas and his family have unique knowledge in their varnishing techniques and in making a perfectly hollowed-out and decked hull. A system of an artificial air bubble provides the most realistic sea-worthiness possible, the boats are then sanded by hand.
The quality and finish of 503 is simple hardy superb. The company has attracted several awards including the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Award). Other companies in this class include Hermes, Chanel and Christian Dior.
Sailing boat 503 represents quality, timelessness and tradition at a price that is outstanding for its value. It is a perfect gift for children, teens and mature boat lovers and can be passed down from generation to generation.
